Because I work from home on my own schedule, and we homeschool, which also allows us to basically set our own schedule, weekends aren’t as huge a deal for us as they are for others. We look forward to them, sure, but there’s not usually that “Yay! It’s the weekend!” or “Crap, it’s Monday!” feeling for us.
This time, however, there definitely is a bit of that “Yay! It’s the weekend!” feeling for me. I started dealing with a bunch of crap yesterday afternoon, and things just kept getting worse and worse. I think things are finally starting to look up, but I’m still wary. But all this crap has me looking forward to a three day weekend, with nothing to worry about except getting in the pool and grilling some delicious food – and building a campfire or two. Bonus: we have all the ingredients for s’mores.
I’m looking forward to kicking back, between swims and fires and meals, and enjoying the book I’m currently reading. I finally gave in to trends (way behind the times, but whatever!) and am reading the Game of Thrones books. I know they have another name, but I don’t remember it right now. I’m currently on the first book, and while I had some trouble getting into it at first, I’m now really into it and can’t wait to get back to it.
While we’re talking about good books, The Secrets He Kept is on sale starting tomorrow! Beginning August 30th and through September 6th, you can pick up the ebook version for just $.99 on Amazon. And if you prefer paperbacks to ebooks, I’ve got you covered there, too. In my CreateSpace store, you can use coupon code LLBKHJC6 to get $4 off either The Secrets He Kept or Ripped Away (or both, if you like). That $4 off means that, unless you were planning to spend more than $35 on Amazon to get the free shipping, you can pick up the book for even less than you would pay on Amazon, and that’s including the shipping.
It’s a great read for the long weekend, so take advantage of the discount to add it to your Kindle library. And if you’ve already read it, why not let your friends know about it so they can scoop it up while it’s discounted?
Besides reading, what are your plans for this weekend?
