This month has been amazingly busy for me. It feels like it should be the end of the month already.
As I’ve mentioned before, I am participating in NaNoWriMo this month. If you aren’t familiar with it, the basic idea is that it’s a challenge to write 50,000 words between November 1st and November 30th. I met that goal and passed it last night. Today, I am currently at 52,350 words! This is particularly exciting to me when you consider that I started with one idea, which I worked on for a week before discovering that it just was not going to work for me at this time, and then started over with another idea. So, I basically wrote all those words in about 11 days. Granted, many of them will be cut from the final draft, and a lot of them will be changed around, moved and scrutinized carefully to ensure that they really do belong, but the point is, I did it!
And I’ve also been busy getting my kids to get their Christmas lists together. I’ll be doing my shopping this weekend, when my parents will be available to watch the kids for me. Hopefully, between a bit of shopping online tonight and then the trip this weekend, I’ll be able to get everything done, and not have to set foot in any store except for the grocery store between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I’ve also been working on a couple of other things. Such as:
1. You can now find paperbacks of my books online at Barnes and Noble. 🙂 And you can ask your local library to get them on the shelves, too!
2. Next week, for Black Friday, I will be doing a Kindle Countdown Deal on all my ebooks, and I will be offering a coupon code for a discount on the paperback version through my store. Check back next week for all the details.
And with that, it’s time for me to get back to work…well, for about 5 minutes. Then it’s time to kick back and watch NCIS and wait for Sons of Anarchy later. Tuesday nights are great, aren’t they?
