Fekkai Glossing Shampoo and Conditioner
As a BzzAgent, I receive free samples of a variety of products to try and review. Some items don’t pass muster and I find that I don’t want to use them even long enough to finish the sample, much less on a regular basis. Fekkai Glossing Shampoo and Conditioner is NOT one of those items.
The Fekkai products are incredible. They smell great, work great, and they even look pretty in the shower.
The products are a little different than any other shampoo and conditioner I’ve used before. The shampoo doesn’t lather up the way other shampoos do, but in honesty, I like it. I feel like my hair is clean when I’m done using it, but I don’t feel like I’m standing there rinsing my hair forever to get all the suds out.
The conditioner instructs you to apply it to damp hair and comb it through. The idea of combing conditioner through is not something that had ever really occurred to me before, but since the instructions said to, I grabbed a comb as I hopped into the shower to use the Fekkai products.
The conditioner made the comb slide through my hair with amazing ease – something that is a huge plus for me, as my hair tangles so easily and really hurts when I try to get the tangles out. As with the shampoo, the conditioner doesn’t feel like other conditioners I’ve used. Others seem, for lack of a better word, clingy. I feel like I can’t quite get all the conditioner out. Frequently, I do end up getting out of the shower with some conditioner left in my hair. The Fekkai conditioner, on the other hand, rinses away very cleanly and easily. By combing it through, I feel as though I’m really getting conditioner on all the strands of my hair, but when I step out, I feel that my hair is clean and free of any product.
The Fekkai shampoo and conditioner leave behind a scent that is wonderfully pleasant. I can’t quite identify exactly what the scent is, but it reminds me of how my hair smells after I’ve had a shampoo and cut at the salon. It’s a great smell, and a great way to feel when stepping out of the shower on an ordinary day.
I also noticed that my hair feels so much lighter when using the Fekkai products. Possibly because I’m not able to rinse out all the conditioner, when I use other products, my hair usually feels kind of heavy, weighed down. With Fekkai products, it feels bouncy, light and comfortable.
There’s only one downside I’ve found to the Fekkai product line so far. As a BzzAgent, I received an 8oz bottle of shampoo and an 8oz bottle of conditioner. According to the Fekkai website, to purchase bottles of the size I received, they would be about $25 each. At $50 for a bottle of shampoo and conditioner, this is quite far outside my price range as a single mother.
I still have my sample bottles, and until I hit the lotto or sell my first book, Fekkai hair products will be my rare luxury item. Unless, of course, one of my readers would like to buy me a year’s supply for Christmas? 🙂
