The after-Christmas Irritation

I had a beautiful Christmas with my family. Everyone got many things they wanted, a few things they didn’t expect, and we all got time together, which is the best part of the holiday for me. One thing that I got was a video game that was, unfortunately, for a console I don’t own. Which was why I had to […]

Fantasy of romance vs reality

As an adult, I’ve had enough relationships to realize that they don’t all end in happy ever after, and that happy for the moment is the best we get sometimes. I’ve learned who I am, both in and out of a relationship, and that it’s important that I retain that knowledge and don’t let go of it in an attempt to hold on to a relationship that simply isn’t meant to be. I can support friends as they struggle to work out problems in a relationship, and lend a shoulder to cry on when they walk away, as well as smile happily at their weddings or the births of their children.

Running late today

My day got off to a rough start. I woke up around 4:30 with a nasty headache that’s only just gone away in the last half hour or so. I was able to go back to sleep for a while, but it didn’t help with the pain, and it was a restless sleep, so it might have actually done more […]

Christmas prep

You can see the story of what happened the first time I made them here, but I can assure you that the process is much smoother these days – and the cookies are properly sized, and even shaped these days!

I had a boring week!

After three weeks of disasters, last week was actually pretty boring. One day, my cat decided to race through the house like his butt was on fire, jump on a table and knock my hot chocolate and oatmeal all over the table, the chair, me, and my laptop. I had to race to get the hot chocolate off my laptop, […]

Someday I'll be back on track (maybe)

Last week, when I said I was getting back on track, apparently I lied. It was a false sense of progress. As I explained last week, I’d had to get a new laptop because my old one was dying. The first one I got, a Dell, had a defective touchpad that stopped working during the setup process. After two and […]

My top 3 NEW favorite writers

During my Summer of (Fictional) Love, I read mostly authors that were new to me. Most of these authors have been published before, and I just hadn’t read them, but a few were debut authors, too. I enjoyed pretty much all the books I read. There were a few exceptions, of course. Overall, though, I found a whole list of […]

Just a quick update

No book review today (but I believe I have three coming up next week for you). Today’s post is actually going to be pretty short and sweet. It’s been raining here for about two or three weeks straight now. Not 24/7, but extensively enough to leave parts of my street underwater, eliminate all possibility of swimming, and pretty much make […]

Summer Lovin'

Summer is upon us – the official first day is approaching fast, but the heat is already here, and my very painful sunburn from the beach last week is a vivid reminder that we have definitely started the summer festivities. As I was driving the other day, I heard two songs. They were: They both reminded me, very vividly, of […]
