We rang in the new year, slept in on the first day of 2016, and took down the Christmas decorations on the second day of the year. The weekend was cold and rainy for us, so that meant it was also very lazy and relaxed. This, of course, means that today, I’m a little off-balance. It’s still rather chilly, although […]
I had a beautiful Christmas with my family. Everyone got many things they wanted, a few things they didn’t expect, and we all got time together, which is the best part of the holiday for me. One thing that I got was a video game that was, unfortunately, for a console I don’t own. Which was why I had to […]
As an adult, I’ve had enough relationships to realize that they don’t all end in happy ever after, and that happy for the moment is the best we get sometimes. I’ve learned who I am, both in and out of a relationship, and that it’s important that I retain that knowledge and don’t let go of it in an attempt to hold on to a relationship that simply isn’t meant to be. I can support friends as they struggle to work out problems in a relationship, and lend a shoulder to cry on when they walk away, as well as smile happily at their weddings or the births of their children.
My day got off to a rough start. I woke up around 4:30 with a nasty headache that’s only just gone away in the last half hour or so. I was able to go back to sleep for a while, but it didn’t help with the pain, and it was a restless sleep, so it might have actually done more […]
You can see the story of what happened the first time I made them here, but I can assure you that the process is much smoother these days – and the cookies are properly sized, and even shaped these days!
After three weeks of disasters, last week was actually pretty boring. One day, my cat decided to race through the house like his butt was on fire, jump on a table and knock my hot chocolate and oatmeal all over the table, the chair, me, and my laptop. I had to race to get the hot chocolate off my laptop, […]
Last week, when I said I was getting back on track, apparently I lied. It was a false sense of progress. As I explained last week, I’d had to get a new laptop because my old one was dying. The first one I got, a Dell, had a defective touchpad that stopped working during the setup process. After two and […]
After writing last week that I needed to cut back on how often I posted, I ended up even further behind than I already felt I was.
Reading is an escape from life. Whatever we read, we enjoy a good book that draws us in, transports us to another place, time, or life than what we currently have. Romance readers read romance for a variety of reasons: they might be single and read it for the relationship and romance, they might be in an unhappy marriage and […]
Over the course of my Summer of Love, there have been a couple of books that I was supposed to review and ended up dropping out on, because I just didn’t like the books. I’m not going to name names, as the books are newly published and as an author myself, I would hate for someone to totally trash my […]
